Case Study: Aston University Birmingham

We were asked by our existing client, Aston University Birmingham, to inspect their main sports hall floor. They were experiencing difficulties. The levels and movement of their Junckers premium quality beech sprung floor system weren’t where they needed to be.

We carried out an inspection, fully aware that this could be a challenging project. Unusually, the whole arena is above an old swimming pool, and is supported by a complex system.

Not surprisingly, this can be prone to movement. So, whilst another specialist team carried out repairs to the support system, we also attended and carried out a number of flooring repairs. We thoroughly sanded the whole floor through various grits to a fine finish, then set out and painted all games lines to the existing specification. To finish off, we applied 2 coats of Bona Super Sport HD Accredited seal system.
