Sports Hall Flooring Portsmouth

Indoor Sports Hall Flooring Installations Throughout the UK, Europe & Worldwide

Portsmouth packs more sport into fewer square miles than almost anywhere on the south coast. School gyms in Fratton, community halls in Cosham, university courts and leisure centres, all working flat out, all standing on floors that need proper care. That is our job. Courtship Flooring provides installations, refurbishments and maintenance across Portsmouth and south Hampshire.

Established in 1987 and still family-run, we bring our own team and machinery to every project, subcontract nothing, and treat a community hall in Portsea with the same care as a university sports centre.

Sea air, sandy shoes and relentless timetables are all part of coastal flooring life, and after nearly four decades on the south coast, none of it surprises us.

Sports Hall Floor Refurbishment In Portsmouth

Most Portsmouth halls come to us with the same symptoms: greying lacquer along the busy lanes, court lines fading to guesswork, and a surface that feels slippery within a day of mopping. Refurbishment fixes all three. We sand back to clean timber with dust extraction running, repair what genuinely needs repairing, then reseal and re-mark the hall for its full timetable.

The work slots around your bookings, overnight and weekend programmes included, and you get the reopening date in writing before the vans arrive.

Beyond the refurbishments, we work as complete sports flooring contractors across south Hampshire: floor sanding and resealing, line marking, sprung dance studio floors and squash court care from a single team.

Crests, Logos And Court Branding

A floor can do more than host sport: it can carry the badge. We apply school crests, club emblems and centre logos directly into the floor finish, sealed under the final coats so they last as long as the lacquer around them. For schools it turns a hall into a point of pride; for clubs and centres it is branding that every visitor stands on.

Logos are usually added during a refurbishment or new installation, when the surface is already open, though we can retrofit them into a sound floor too. Bring us the artwork and we will handle the rest.

Schools And Academies Across South Hampshire

From primary schools to sixth-form colleges and academy trusts, education work is the backbone of what we do in Hampshire. School floors need to be safe for PE, tough enough for assemblies and exams, and ready for whatever the timetable adds next term. Our school sports hall flooring service covers all of it, from new installations to holiday refurbishments.

We back the work with pendulum slip resistance testing and sensible maintenance plans, so site teams know exactly how to keep the floor at its best between our visits.

Great competitive quote, quality job start to finish. would highly recommend for all your flooring requirements. Pilton Community College.

An outstanding company to deal with and they couldn’t have been better to work with. St George’s Ascot now has a stunning new sports hall floor and we are delighted. From quote, support, delivery and after sales, the Team has been brilliant. Thank you. 👍

Medina Leisure Centre Sports Hall (after)

Case Study: Medina Leisure Centre, Isle of Wight

You can almost see this one from Portsmouth. At Medina Leisure Centre on the Isle of Wight we refurbished the main sports hall floor completely: sanding, repairs, resealing and a full set of new markings, with the logistics of an island job planned down to the ferry crossing.

The after photographs show a hall transformed, and for Portsmouth facilities the message is simple: if we will take the machinery across the Solent for the right result, getting to a school in Cosham or a leisure centre in Havant is the easy part.

FAQS

It depends what the floor needs: a deep clean is the cheapest fix, a sand and seal with new markings the most common one, and full replacement the last resort we rarely need to recommend. Send us photos or book a free survey for honest figures.

Typically four to five days for a single-court hall, including sanding, repairs, sealing, line marking and curing, which fits neatly into half term. We confirm the exact programme in writing after a free survey.

Yes. Crests and logos are applied into the floor finish and sealed beneath the final coats, so they wear at the same rate as the rest of the surface. Send us the artwork and we will advise on sizing and placement.
