Flooring Professionals To The Leisure Industry
Courtship Flooring provides commercial sports hall flooring in Bournemouth: installation, refurbishment, floor sanding and sealing, court line marking and ongoing maintenance for schools, academies, colleges, universities, leisure trusts, local authorities and sports clubs.
Since 1987 we have worked on indoor sports floors the length of the country and internationally. We remain family-run and deliberately specialist, covering installation through to long-term aftercare with our own team and machinery. We take no domestic work; Ryan’s Restorations covers that.

The floor is sanded back to clean timber using dust-controlled machinery, so the rest of the building carries on and the mess stays in the bag rather than in your ventilation. Damaged boards are cut out and replaced with matching timber, gaps attended to, and the surface fine-sanded ready for sealing.
Seal systems from manufacturers such as Bona and Junckers are chosen for the workload of the room and applied in the correct number of coats with proper curing between them. Markings go down between coats so the lines sit protected within the finish rather than on top of it.
Not every tired floor needs the full treatment, and a contractor who only sands will always recommend sanding. Where the lacquer is worn but unbroken, a light abrasion followed by fresh coats of seal restores appearance and grip in a couple of days at a fraction of the cost.
This matters because every full sand removes timber permanently. A well-maintained floor wants a recoat every two to three years and a full sand roughly every eight to twelve. We measure remaining board thickness and tell you which one you are genuinely looking at.
Some floors carry a different responsibility. Sprung dance and performance floors exist to protect performers, absorbing impact from every landing before it reaches ankles and knees, while still allowing the controlled slide that turns require.
Fitness suites are a different problem again, where dropped weights and machine vibration dictate the build-up, and squash courts are traditionally left unsealed so the timber grips. We install and maintain all of them.
The sports hall floor at Treguib had given years of service and looked it. Our team took it back to clean timber, repaired the wear, then resealed and re-marked the full hall.
The result is a floor that plays and looks like new for a fraction of replacement cost, delivered a long way from our base and still on the date we promised.

An outstanding company to deal with and they couldn’t have been better to work with. St George’s Ascot now has a stunning new sports hall floor and we are delighted. From quote, support, delivery and after sales, the Team has been brilliant. Thank you. ![]()

There is no standard rate, because no two floors arrive in the same condition. What we can promise is that we will identify the cheapest option that genuinely solves the problem and quote it alongside the fuller alternatives, with firm figures rather than ranges.
Yes, throughout. Distance is a logistics question rather than a quality one, and we resolve it by planning the whole programme in advance rather than working in stages.
Most halls benefit from relining every two to three years, since baselines and service areas wear long before the rest of the floor. It is inexpensive as a standalone visit and cheaper still when combined with a recoat.
Yes. Plans typically cover an annual deep clean from four pounds fifty per square metre, a condition inspection, recoating when the seal genuinely needs it, repairs, re-lining and slip testing with a written report. We also train your own team on the correct daily routine.
We carry the insurance and documentation institutional clients and procurement teams require, work to CDM where a project falls under it, and provide method statements and risk assessments as standard rather than on request.
